Technological progress substitutes capital for labour, that made up of routine tasks and in particular intermediate jobs in industry. Moreover, this progress benefits skilled labor and high-wage jobs, which consequently increase. On the other hand, the digital revolution has had a limited impact on manual work consisting of non-routine tasks and we are witnessing an increase in low-wage jobs that do not benefit from productivity gains. There is therefore a polarization of employment, a negative development, which makes work less inclusive for the workers who perform these jobs.

El progreso tecnológico sustituye el trabajo por capital, el que se compone de tareas rutinarias y, en particular, de trabajos intermedios en la industria.
